I knew that when we would be seeking a window treatment for our very large living room window, Karen would be my only call.  Karen was so very patient with me. So many questions, and changing my mind between products.  Ultimately, we decided on Shade-O-Matic cordless DuoLight.  The blinds were just installed a few hours ago and my entire family is so happy with this decision.  It has completely transformed our room and absolutely gave us the sleek, clean look we wanted, while giving us privacy options and light control  for this large south-west facing window.

This is all during this time of how we have all had to adjust to Covid protocols.  Karen was just as wonderful over the phone and through emails as she was in person with my father.  She arranged for the book samples to be dropped off safely, and her installers took all the precautions to keep themselves and my family safe.

Kurtains by Karen are an absolutely professional service to deal with from start to finish! Both Karen and Harold were courteous, engaging and thoughtful of or specific needs. We had numerous windows fitted with Eclipse plantation shutters and some Hunter Douglas blinds as well. Karen had helpful suggestions to begin with and the installations teams were polite and excellent at their craft! Karen and Harold were in touch throughout the process and I would now consider them friends! Convenient home visits with competitive pricing! The big box stores aren???t close in this competition  (if you consider, pricing, service, quality and convenience) as we checked them out as well.

In April 2019, “Kurtains by Karen” installed Eclipse shutters on seven windows in our home including two bay windows and a sliding door to our back garden. Hunter Douglas shades were also installed on two basement well windows. These shutters have improved the look of our kitchen, living room, a bedroom, our walk out basement and studio.

Word of mouth got us regarding Karen and her expertise via my parents who had her do some work on their house in Guelph. We were very impressed with the end result and decided to consult with her regarding our oversized windows in our loft space in Toronto. They were tricky windows to work with, as they are set in brick, extremely large and of irregular shape. She recommended a product that we would not have though about ourselves, beautiful vinyl California shutters.

There was only a slight problem with the install as the measurements were slightly off, preventing a perfect fit. Without any hesitation she returned them to the manufacturer, had the problem fixed and then installed them flawlessly with no extra cost or hassle.
